Karen has 30 years of experience in for profit and non-profit business development and management across a wide range of industries including publishing and commercial printing to real estate and housing development. She is the founder and CEO of S365 Consulting + Design, a commercial interior design and consulting firm specializing in senior living, and Housewarming Home Staging & Design, a residential interior design firm.
Her work as a consultant in multi-family housing development and senior living as an advisor to CEOs, Sales & Marketing Directors, Board Directors, Real Estate Developers, Facility Managers, and community residents arms her with a broad and flexible skillset. She has a passion for mission-driven work and the ability to identify and connect with all stakeholders.
She has had years of board experience including as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors for the Kenney Foundation and as a director and Strategic Planning Committee member for the Keiro Northwest Board of Directors. As the President of the Board of Directors for the Senior Center of West Seattle, Karen led an extensive, multi-year needs assessment to analyze programming, brand and building usage in order to develop a 10-year strategic plan. During her tenure on the board, she oversaw the hiring and onboarding of a new Executive Director, recruited multiple new board members and created and helped develop three new committees including an Equity and Inclusion Committee.
Karen is passionate about coaching leaders and leading teams through the challenges of big change and helping them to find and forge the path to a thriving future for all stakeholders. Her own experiences in life, business and the board room have taught her to value and embrace change while focusing on adaptability and resiliency.
