The Hepatitis Education Project (HEP) Board of Directors has announced that Apoorva Mallya will be their next Executive Director. Liz Swanson, who served as Interim Executive Director for the last 18 months will be handing over leadership responsibilities and staying on as a consultant to assist with the transition. In response, Board President, Maria Corcorran, has said, As we move forward under Apoorva’s leadership, HEP will continue its mission to reduce morbidity and mortality associated with viral hepatitis. Apoorva brings a tremendous passion for public health service delivery and a strong commitment to serving those who are most vulnerable. We are thrilled to have him at the helm as HEP celebrates 30 years of providing care for underserved communities disproportionately impacted by viral hepatitis.
I have heard from several of you about the importance of DEI issues and of having an actionable plan for addressing them. From what I hear from our consultants and clients, there is some good news, and still much work to do.
