Nonprofit organizations that are burning through cash typically can’t just ask their donors and partners for more money without first stemming the tide of cash outflows. Funders want to see that an organization is being a good steward of their finances before they are willing to continue (or increase) their contributions. But even aside from the discussion around future funding requests, an organization must shore up their spending to remain viable into the future.
Launch names Senior Director of Programs, Laura Nicholson, as their next Executive Director1/23/2024
Launch is proud to announce that they have named their next Executive Director. Laura Nicholson, who has been serving as their Senior Director of Programs, will now lead the organization as their newest Executive Director. In speaking about her new role, Laura has said, I am so excited and honored to be part of the future of Launch as the next Executive Director. During my four years at Launch, my commitment and love for Launch has continued to grow, and I can’t wait to engage with our staff, families and community in this new capacity as we continue to lead the charge to brilliant outcomes for the children in our care. In her former role at Launch, Laura was responsible for directing program development as well as overseeing their programming across 13 locations – initiating and expanding programming as well as collaborating with external partners. Laura’s passion for ensuring that all students have equitable access to opportunities is why she is a great fit for the Executive Director role.
As a result, we have seen plenty of examples of what makes a great nonprofit leader.

Even among organizations that have taken the time to put together a succession plan, it doesn’t always help them much when an unexpected situation arises because their plan falls short in scope.
Find out how today’s top nonprofits will be fundraising this year to retain key staff, sustain important programming, maintain their presence in the community, and make a real impact!
