About Lauren Treacy Lauren has a BA in Psychology from Gonzaga University and a Master of Education from Louisiana State University, where she served as President of LSU’s chapter of Chi Sigma Iota international honor society. After college Lauren joined AmeriCorps, serving as a Program Manager, Program Director, and Managing Director of Impact at City Year in Seattle. In these roles she oversaw partnerships with Seattle Public Schools, managed professional development trainings, and worked to develop sustainable funding. Demonstrating a learner mindset as well as a commitment to personal growth, her work is anchored in trying to improve her local community. Lauren values diversity and sees diverse teams as the key to improving educational spaces and work environments. Authenticity and the desire to give voices to people who need to be heard drive everything that she does. With a strong focus on today’s youth, Lauren aims to come alongside young people to partner with them as agents of change for educational equity. About College Possible College Possible believes a college education is transformational – empowering students to tackle broader systemic challenges to change their communities and the world at large. They understand that race and income, not talent or interest, are the biggest barriers to obtaining a college degree. And they aim to change that! The premise driving all the work they do is an understanding that as a society we all benefit when there are more college graduates. Their results-driven program not only strives to get students from diverse backgrounds into college, but through college as well so that they earn degrees. The College Possible program includes a curriculum that aims to give prospective college students the tools they need to find the school that is the right fit for them and prepare academically for their college journey. They also help students with financial planning and personal development to give them well-rounded life skills to succeed wherever life takes them. After acceptance they pair up AmeriCorps and VISTA members as coaches with college students to provide the support they need to help them succeed once they are enrolled. They are one of the nation’s largest nonprofit organizations advocating for college access and success with a proven track record of results.
