We are excited to welcome Chris Cannon to our growing Executive Search Team. With over a decade of experience in the mission-driven sector, he brings a wealth of knowledge. In his early career he was an Executive Director of a growing nonprofit organization in Ghana. His experience in that role shaped his professional aspirations, leading him to a career in executive recruiting and nonprofit consulting, as well as giving him a passion for board leadership and volunteering. In his time since Chris has worked as a search consultant to both nonprofits as well as client search organizations, including Seattle Aquarium, Stanford Law School, Disability Rights CA, Lifelong, Skoll Foundation, Water for People, Landesa, the Katz Amsterdam Foundation, LOR Foundation, Raikes Foundation, Treehouse, A Way Home WA, the American Indian Graduate Center, CA State Bar, and the CT Coalition to End Homelessness among others.
In his free time Chris volunteers in his community, working to use his skills and passions to inspire others. He previously served as the Board President of Youth in Focus, an organization aimed at empowering urban youth through photography. Chris is also a Board member for Gift of Adoption (Columbia River Chapter) and The OUT Foundation. Chris has a bachelor’s degree in Sociology as well as a master’s degree in Public Administration from Brigham Young University. At BYU he oversaw a student-led consulting firm that advised organizations on grantmaking and impact assessment. He also worked on projects to benefit underserved infants and children through the Dyslexia Center of Utah, the Rosemary and David Olsen Family Foundation, United Way of Utah County - Welcome Baby Program, and the Paul Mitchell Schools Foundation. Chris lives in Portland, OR with his husband, toddler, dog, and many fish. His hobbies include photography, cooking, and exploring the area’s wine country. Comments are closed.
