About RMHC in Western Washington & Alaska
RMHC in Western Washington & Alaska has been an integral part of the community for almost 40 years, providing resources for families going through medical crises thanks to the support of their founder and partner, the McDonald’s Corporation. Fulfilling their mission, they offer the comforts of home and much-needed services to families whose children require ongoing medical care nearby.
The Seattle House offers a “home away from home” for families with seriously ill children – bedrooms and bathrooms, appliances, meals, and home items as well as self-contained apartments for bone marrow recipients that need to live in isolation. The Anchorage House offers a place for expectant mothers with high-risk pregnancies as well as the families of pediatric patients to stay as well as access to the hospital’s on-site amenities. Both houses offer their respective communities the kind of support that is integral for families whose lives have been uprooted by unexpected medical events. Across both locations RMHC in Western Washington & Alaska is able to provide accommodations for 139 families to offer community during an extremely difficult time in their lives.
