Family Law CASA Selects Deidre McCormack Martin as Executive Director

We are pleased to announce Deidre McCormack Martin has been selected as Family Law CASA’s new Executive Director.

Family Law CASA’s Board of Directors is excited to work with Deidre’s expertise and leadership.  Family Law CASA is committed to protecting children and Deidre shares that passion and commitment.

​Deidre has over 20 years of non-profit experience with 15 years in leadership roles advocating and providing services to youth. 

Previously, she was the Executive Director of Summer Search's Seattle office, a national youth development organization, and was the Interim Executive Director for the WA Association for Infant Mental Health.  In 2013 she was named to Puget Sound Business Journal’s 40 under 40.

“I am thrilled to be joining the experienced team at King County Family Law CASA to support the organization in fulfilling its mission to give vulnerable children a voice in court. I hope to partner with the board, staff, volunteers and the community to take the organization to the next level of sustainability and growth so we may continue this very important work helping children” said Deidre McCormack Martin.

​Ms. McCormack Martin values and fights for social justice, educational equity and a vibrant community that cares for all of its members.  She holds a BA in history from Santa Clara University and spends spare time with her three daughters and husband in their community in West Seattle or camping and hiking in the beautiful mountains of the Pacific Northwest. 

About Family Law CASA

Family Law CASA advocates for local children in high-risk custody cases so they have a chance for a safe, secure home life, significantly reducing the risk of abuse and neglect. Trained and professionally guided lay-person volunteer advocates gather in-depth, child-focused information for the court to establish a safe plan for children in custody disputes involving significant safety concerns - physical & sexual abuse, domestic violence, neglect, drug and alcohol abuse, criminal activity, health, education, &/or untreated mental illness. It is a free service to low-income families in King County.

In fiscal year 2019 Family Law CASA provided an advocate for 273 children and since 2002 has helped over 2,500 at-risk children have a safer, more secure home life. Family Law CASA relies entirely on community support and receives no government funding.
