Launch names Senior Director of Programs, Laura Nicholson, as their next Executive Director1/23/2024
![]() Launch is proud to announce that they have named their next Executive Director. Laura Nicholson, who has been serving as their Senior Director of Programs, will now lead the organization as their newest Executive Director. In speaking about her new role, Laura has said, I am so excited and honored to be part of the future of Launch as the next Executive Director. During my four years at Launch, my commitment and love for Launch has continued to grow, and I can’t wait to engage with our staff, families and community in this new capacity as we continue to lead the charge to brilliant outcomes for the children in our care. In her former role at Launch, Laura was responsible for directing program development as well as overseeing their programming across 13 locations – initiating and expanding programming as well as collaborating with external partners. Laura’s passion for ensuring that all students have equitable access to opportunities is why she is a great fit for the Executive Director role. The Launch Board of Directors is confident that her passion, strategic vision, and commitment to equity will help guide the organization to new heights. About Laura ![]() Laura Nicholson is a proven nonprofit leader with a strong commitment to cultivating anti-racist, culturally affirming spaces for students and their families. Amid the extensive experience that she brings to the role, she is best known for her ability to build relationships, motivate the team, and plan strategically to lead well. She is committed to ensuring that students have access to the kind of life-changing opportunities that can pave the way for successful outcomes. Prior to joining Launch four years ago, Laura held roles as child Development Coordinator with the Bellevue School District and Assistant Program Coordinator with AmeriCorps. She has a degree in Cultural Anthropology from Seattle University and a Master of Education from Seattle Pacific University. Laura is also an advocate volunteer with Teen Feed, a mental health care organization for homeless youth.
