Sylvia Fuerstenberg Joins Crisis Connections as Interim Executive Director

The Board of Trustees of Crisis Connections is pleased to announce that they have selected Sylvia Fuerstenberg, MSW from Valtas Group to serve as the interim Chief Executive Officer for Crisis Connections.

Sylvia has extensive previous experience as a Chief Executive in non-profit social service organizations. More recently, she has served as a consultant and interim executive, assisting social service agencies with successful leadership transitions.

One of the reasons that Sylvia was identified as our top choice is that the mission of Crisis Connections strongly aligns with her values.

Sylvia is excited to assist the Crisis Connections team in its stellar work assuring that our community is supported in this unprecedented time of crisis.

Sylvia and her husband have raised two amazing young adults here in the Pacific Northwest and cannot imagine living anywhere else. She is an avid explorer of the world; she loves to hike and play music and sing in her free time.

Crisis Connections connects people in physical, emotional, and financial crisis to services that will be of help. Crisis Connections serves all people (in physical, emotional, and financial crisis)  with an emphasis on serving King County residents.

They do this to reduce immediate emotional distress and defuse crises for individuals, families and the community; to reduce the immediate risk of violence to one’s self and others; and to increase the ability of people to access the safety net, particularly for mental and emotional support services.
