VitalTalk Selects Kendra Mirasol as CEO

Valtas Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Kendra Mirasol as CEO of VitalTalk
​
VitalTalk’s vision is that every seriously ill patient will be surrounded by clinicians who can skillfully discuss what matters most and match care to values. They teach communication skills to empower both individuals and institutions.

​The organization’s evidence-based training methods include intensive role-play with actors, and clinicians rapidly learn how to communicate effectively and compassionately in a safe environment. Typical training participants include doctors, social and hospice workers, chaplains and other healthcare professionals.

“VitalTalk believes that effective, empathic, and honest conversations between a clinician, patient, and family are the cornerstones of patient-centered care,” says Dr. Tony Back, one of VitalTalk’s founders. “Kendra’s experience with leading an intercultural training organization to support those during stressful times will be a great asset to our organization.”

Kendra joins Vital Talk after a distinguished career with Chicago-based IOR Global Services, a relocation support services company, where she was co-owner and President. There she led the company through a significant growth phase by implementing a disciplined strategic, financial and continuous improvement philosophy, incorporating quality metrics and investing in innovative technology solutions, all with a focus on quality and customer service.

Kendra’s prior roles included Director of Online Services for RR Donnelly, and marketing and sales roles at Siemens AG in Berlin, Germany and McGraw-Hill Higher Education in Los Angeles. She also serves as the Vice Chair of the Board of Cultural Vistas, a non-profit exchange organization promoting global understanding and collaboration through sustained work immersion programs in foreign countries and languages.

Kendra holds a BA from the University of California Irvine and an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her kids traveling globally, outdoor recreation and SCUBA diving as a PADI certified Advanced Open Water Diver.
